Lyds and Calicula

Lyds, a girl born in Athens, was born orphaned. Her mother had died giving birth and her father was a centuar, leading his troops into battle against a war lord Barious . Lynd grew up with no sibblings and was taught to survive on her own. She was guided and protected by the goddess Athena.

Athena taught Lyds the strength and wisdom to make her own decisions and stand on her own. When ahe was old enough she would take Athena’s guidance and put it to good use in her life.

When she was old enough to talk Lyds told stories in the town square and became known as the town bard. She told stories of the Greek gods and the heroic heros of her time, such as hercules. Her favorite stories to tell were those of her teacher Athena. Her dream was to travel to Anphipilius and study at the bard school the become a better storyteller and learn of the the great stories of Greece and Rome, but she believed that story telling was not what she was destined to do. Every night she prayed to the gods to keep her father safe at war and for them to guide her in the right direction, that she will be led to the fates and know what her life is suppose to hold.

When Lyds was fifteen she decided to search out and travel to find what was to be of her destiny and fate. She enjoyed story telling very much, but always wondered if she was to do it forever. She got the support of Athena, packed what little she had and headed off. She started on the road to Anphipilius, knowing thats where bard school was and from there she didn’t know where she would go next.

Once reaching Anphipilius she stopped to get something to eat in the nearest pub. The pub was overcrowded and filled with the stupper of the townfolk.Lyds ate her meal and avoided her fellow pub members and headed out to the street flea markets. Athena arrived to her and guided her that is would be in her best interest to buy a weapon of some sort in case of danger. Now Athena was the goddess of war, but had never taught Lyds to use a weapon. She always taught her to use her head and heart to win battles, resort to violence last. Lyds took

Athena’s advice to heart and agreed that it would be a good idea, especially if she were to meet people like the ones in the pub. So Lyds traveled to the nearest weapon sales market and browsed the equipment. She didn’t want any kind of sword, but was fowned of the breast daggers. Instead she bought a simple staff the would serve as a walking stick and a weapon if needed. She knew that the staff would be better in a battle enviornement because it was the least to kill.

After buying the staff she traveled to the town square where she knew she could hear stories of the recent adventures of Hercules and the stories of the gods. There at the town square was a blind man sitting in the middle of worship circle. Lyds stood and listened to the old man speak, but his stories were not that of great heros, but of a mortal that received god like powers from Aphrodite. Aphrodite was left powerless and the mear mortal was given the strength of a god. This mortal god called himself Calicula, the god of chariots. As Lyds listened to the warning of the blind old man she asked Athena silently the truth from which she heard from the old man. Athena replied that it was the truth and no one was brave enough to save Aphrodite’s powers from a mortal that raced his aponents to death.

Calicula was a chariot racer before his quest for power. He was expelled from chariot racing by Ceasar due to his violent actions during the race. Now that Calicula was a god he raced for fun and made chariot racing a blood sport. He challenged anyone that was able to chariot racing and has not yet found and apponent that had the courage and skill to beat him at this sport. Once Calicula became a god he became unstoppable. He was minor enough not to be destroyed by the gods, but was extreme enough to threaten the mortal race.

As Lyds listened to the answer to her questions she decided that something needed to be done. Lyds headed to Rome and called on Athena’s brother Ares the god of war in order to train herself for the battle against Calicula. Ares trained her for six months and gave her the strength, head, and heart of a warrior. Lyds was now a warrior and was skilled enough to defeat Calicula and return Aphrodite’s powers back to her, so that she may be seated in Olympus once again.

Lyds started to the palace of Calicula. She sent word out that a mighty warrior was to challenge Calicula and restore the powers of Aphrodite.Watcher and knowers of the story of Calicula came from all lands to watcht he defeat of Calicula or the destruction of the girl who challenged him.

As Lynds walked up to the palace of Calicula she called for him. She stood outside his palace walls waiting for the so called god to arrive and accept her challenge. Calicula came and stood at the stoop of his balcony. As he peared over she spotted a young girl no more that seventeen calling him out to a challenge of chariots. As he looked at this girl he notice the fear that was in her eyes as she was second guessing her decision to challenge a mortal that had turned god. She had put up of front of strength and courage even to call for the challenge, but Calicula knew or thought that this would be an easy race for him so he was in no rush.

So to the girl that showed him bravery and strength, he honored her for he knew that the battle between them would be simple and he would still be crowned the victor. He called to her over the balcony for all to hear that he would first honor the girl to a chariots celebration in her honor for having the courage to face a god in race. Lyds accepted the offer but was questioning his motives of the party in her honor, so she came up with an idea of her own.

As the party stared and the music played, Calicula sat surrounded by female companions one of them being Aphrodite. As the music played he stood at the presence of his guest and challenger. Lyds had arrived at the party wearing a satin see threw neclegay, black with a party mask. Calicula unable to resist the sight stood and stared at the young challenger that seemed to be more interesting to him as a beauty than a competitor. Calicula invited her to the party and offered her a cup of mead, for it was her party. She refused and asked permission to dance for her god. Noticing Aphrodite in the connor almost non existent, Lyds started to dance. The goal being to suduce Calicula and distract him from his woman of god powers. Calicula stood amazed at the beauty of her moves and focused his attention on the woman that had drawn him out for battle.

As Lyds drew nearer to Calicula in her dancing she kissed him biting his lip. Calicula entrigued with this action drew everyone out of the party for he wanted to be alone in the celebration of his challenger Lyds. In drawing everyone from the party, Calicula noticed that blood had appeared on his hand. He not knowing where, wiped his mouth find that his lip had been bleeding. Enraged he drew a sword at the challenger acussing her of treason against the god. Questioning his god powers he gave thesword to a guard insisting on him to strike Calicula. As he did he was relieved to find that he still maintained his powers and still was immortal. Then he turned to his quest that drew blood. He furiously asked the question on how she was able to draw the blood from a god by a single kiss. Lyds answered “ you thought of me a girl, but I trained with the highest of gods. In my trained they gave me the power to kill gods in whom disrespect their reign. So I will use my power to kill gods on you in order to restore power on Olympus and restore the goddess of love.” Calicula enfireated banished her till the challenge the next day and withdrew to his room.

The next day drew as each competitor got ready for the race that would take place at dusk. Viewers from near and far came to see the defeation of the mortal that turned god, by the helpless of a goddess. As dusk drew close the challenger arrived wearing a her mask from the night before and a gold breast plate in which she conceales a bronze breast dagger. She walked out confidently and showed no signs of fear Calicula saw the day before. Calicula showed last as he mounted his chariot and deathly staring down his competitor. With each warrior mounted above their steads the race began.

With the crowd roaring for the victory of the young girl that showed courage, Calicula brought out his secret weapons that he used in the defeation of his previous competitors. Calicula used the powers that he had taken from Aphrodite to slow the competition. He threw fire balls as the competitors chariot, used the wheel blades to trim the competitors wheels and ran for victory.

As they rounded the first conner of the track, Lyds took the lead, pushing her horses to their max. Calicula gained and passed her on the second round. Using his powers to slow the comepitor, Lyds did not let them interfere with her strive to restore power to Olympus. She planned a way to use Calicula’s powers against him. Rounding the last conner coming up on the finish line, Calicula still lead. To add fun to his game he turned and threw a fire ball at Lyds’ chariot, she swerved missing the fire ball. With Calicula taking his focus off the race he turned from his cheating actions, noticing that there was a market wagon in the path of his chariot. He could not miss it. He released his horses and used the market wagon as a ramp. As Caliclua’s chariot him the market wagon the chariot flipped leading Calicula to lose the race. The victor being his young challenger Lyds. The crowd roared as they knew that the reign of Calicula would be over.
